The Careers Department were delighted to welcome back the hugely popular Speed Networking Event to school on Wednesday 5th April.

A two-year pandemic-related absence meant that this year’s event was even more keenly anticipated than usual, and with eighteen employers from a variety of sectors, the whole morning’s session was a fantastic experience for our Year 9 students.

Each student had the opportunity to speak to seven different employers – in fast-paced 5 minute slots – asking about their industry, career pathway, and seeking their advice on any qualities needed for their profession.

With industries including healthcare, construction and finance, there was a diverse range of employer information on hand for our Year 9 students, who received effusive praise from our visitors for their conduct and enthusiasm throughout.

The Careers Department would like to pay special thanks to the school’s Enterprise Advisor, Rodo’s Sarah Pritchard, who – on top of helping to organise the event – spoke to students about her own career journey.

Of course, the school wouldn’t have been able to host such a successful event without the employers themselves, so a huge thank you and appreciation for all those companies who took time out of their busy schedules to help shape our students’ future.
