An update from our green-fingered gurus in the School Garden Club, who continue to keep the school’s grounds immaculate.

The garden, at the back of the Quad and Library building, was entered in this year’s Middleton in Bloom – Judges Route for the 2022 Britain in bloom contest in July.

Taking a guided tour of our inspirational sensory school garden, the visiting judges were particularly impressed with our students’ hard work and knowledge of all gardening aspects.

The garden was also entered into the It’s Your Neighbourhood Category at the North-West Britain in Bloom 2022 awards, achieving an Level 3 Advancing – an incredible achievement considering our gardening team have only been able to start working since April due to the pandemic.

Miss Rothwell and all staff involved in the School Garden Club are so proud of what our students have achieved in such a short space of time.

They are a credit to the school and community, and their ongoing efforts and support will ensure the school’s green space continues to grow: projects over the next few months and into 2023 include the creation of a sensory ladder path, and a whole host of other exciting endeavours.
