The Year 7 Girls footballers made an outstanding outdoor competition debut at Cardinal Langley, with seven wins and just one draw on Thursday 3rd February.
To make the performance even more impressive, the girls didn’t concede a single goal, putting themselves in a very strong position to make the finals after the second round of fixtures in a couple of weeks.
The Wednesday before saw their Year 8 and 9 counterparts compete in their own Cardinal Langley tournament. The girls secured 5th place in a 10-team contest, giving themselves a decent chance of reaching the finals in a fortnight too.
Changing disciplines, the under 13 Boys Handball team picked up a sterling silver medal in the Rochdale Schools Handball Tournament at Newhouse Academy.
Their first-ever handball tournament, the lads overcame a tough first game – where they lost to the eventual champions – to soon find their stride and produce a series of excellent performances and results.
